Have you ever looked at a diamond and instead of wondering at its beauty wonder where it came from?
Africa – my home, do you realize how many people have died so you the modern person who spends three months worth of a salary to look beautiful. People die everyday to support the black market on illegal diamonds exported all over the world, mainly Europe and America two of the richest countries in the world.
Their referred to as ‘blood diamonds’ because of the many life’s lost each day to support this illegal trade.
I as a White South African, hear everyday of blood shed, murder, hunger, starvation, civil conflict, political up rest, and xenophobia.
I’m sixteen and already I’ve been introduced to this ugly world.
As African being so rich in raw materials have always had a black market for countries around the world to feast on, rubber, oil, gold being but a few, but when will other countries realize the deaths caused over these materials, civil wars begin over these things, no one cares about Africa, Africa’s dying but have you stopped and realized it’s the backbone of many countries, dig a little deeper into history books and read the fine print.
The Shona people (native to Zimbabwe) believed and said the soil in Africa is red because the blood of our ancestors stained it red with their blood.
So next time you look at a diamond what are you going to think?
 
Small boys from ages eight and up are kidnapped and trained to be soldiers, an AK-47 is rammed into their innocent hands and then rushed into villagers where they came from and told to kill them, an AK-47 being one of the most popular guns the bullets being able to shoot through seven people in a row, its reliable, it never jams is water and sand resistant, over 200 000 of these small boys are currently known to be soldiers. If captured it’s a soldiers duty to kill them because a small boy with such a horrific past and life cannot be brought back to society.
