It must have hurt so bad,

to see him walk away.

You must have been so empty,

constantly thinking of that day.

What could you do? When you were only eight-years-old?

How could you stop him? Is that why you've become so cold?

For I see behind every insult, every slap that you extend.

You are hurting inside, you need a friend.

You hide behind your mocking shield,

never trusting anyone to come near.

You go on like nothing is wrong,

you never show anyone this fear.

But I know that you recall your memory,

as you become more bitter each day.

I know that you are still in pain,

from the day that daddy walked away.
