A cardboard box melting in the pouring rain,

Filled with years of promise turned to pain,

And I close my eyes and say they are to blame.

 

 Then I go home to the comfort of my eiderdown,

And sleep with cardboard visions dancing around,

While in the pouring rain my conscience drowns.
