The Crucified Church

Stained glass windows paint her world,

In shades of blue, lavender and rose,

As she sits alone, atop of Old Point Road,

In the place were bygone phantoms blow.

No one comes to visit with her anymore,

Except the whispers from the pines,

Who she reminisces with of better times;

Before, the cross was nailed to her door.
