This is in honor of my first chior director, Mr. Larry Groves, who made this arrangement of the traditional song "The Water is Wide." Mr. Groves has made a deep impression in my life, and his advice and teachings will always be with me.

The Water is wide,

Yet I must go.

Oh would that I,

Had wings to fly.

Is there a boat,

That will carry two?

Then both may go,

My love and I.

A ship that sails,

Out on the sea,

Is loaded deep,

Deep as she can be.

Yet not so deep,

As the love I'm in.

I know not if,

I sink or swim.

Oh love is strong,

And love is gold,

And love is deep,

While it still is new.

But when love grows old,

Then it will grow cold,

And fade away,

Like the morning dew.
