In spite of darkness and of madness,

In spite of pity and of sadness,

In spite of spirit or of haste,

None can leave this cursed place.

Love has bound you to each room,

Hate, it seems, has bound you too,

Misery enchants thee with but a taste,

None can leave this cursed place.

No mighty knight can break the spell,

Not even dragonfire could quell,

This dainty thing, it seems, of lace,

None can leave this cursed place.

Beg, you shall, but to no avail,

Don't barter life, it's not for sale,

Freedom for free is never the case,

None can leave this cursed place.

Pray to your gods, but still you'll fear,

For the gods aren't in town this time of year,

Flee from yourself, you most solid base,

None can leave this cursed place.

You know this cell like the back of your hand,

Familiar is all in you very own land,

Is the mirror the master, who bears your face,

None can leave this cursed place.
