The darkness closes in,my world is different from what others see.

Everything is seen through a grey fog that never lifts

Childrens laughter and smiles does not lift my soul

The birds singing in the trees on a bright summers day

Insects buzzing amongst the flowers,I do not hear.

Things that brighten peoples days are lost to me.

Maybe one day there will be a chink of light

Which I will grab with both hands

Untill then I walk in darkness and distant sounds.
