This is a poem about how all good things will eventually fade away. This is a darker, more medieval poem as well. Be critical! Tell me what you think. I appreciate all everyone has to say.

A fallen kingdom of crumbling stone

Sits deserted on the land.

Once a palace with a golden throne,

Now a relic upon the sand.

The Queen was truly fair; the King was always just.

It was a land without despair because they held the people’s trust.

They prospered and flourished in a land well nourished

Which never had need for armed men.

But an army of the night approaches to fight

This kingdom that cannot defend.

The kingdom was burned and the castle was taken.

A lesson was learned that will not be forgotten.

The people fled weary, broken, and shaken.

They learned that ripe fruit will soon become rotten.
