Lady Herron bumps into Old Cremorne

As Charlotte makes her way to Taronga

And the city already feels like a memory

Resting on a bed of crimson sparkles

Sailboats nod lazily in our wake

Jacarandas shimmer, evening haze

It's going to be warm enough to sit out

Under evensong birds singing praise

And I know

Everything has transience

And I know

You're never really mine

So there's nothing to do

But show gratitude

For just being here with you

In this space

In this time

And our story

Our little epic canvas of joy and pain

Rapture and sorrow

Sunshine and rain

However infinitesimally small

However unimaginably vast

Will linger on

Eons after we have drawn our last breath

Reverberating silently through

- and at peace with -

Every molecule across the cosmos

For all time

And all that has made us

Will fuse and meld

And give birth to new stars

To shine until they die

So tonight we'll touch glasses and dream

Under a star-splashed ancient sky

Cos it'll be warm enough to sit out

No more reason why

There may be more things to say

But would you look at the blossom...

Isn't that something?
