Aake lived in the Yodogawa ward in northern Osaka and was a translator. He would mostly translate business documents in Japanese into English. Aakes favorite English word was ”Huzzah” and his favorite Japanese word was ”Rumba”, which means ”literally”. Coming home from his late shifts at the Sayago Building, where his company operated from, he would never look at his computer. This was very much the style of the 80s. No computers, no telephones. He preferred eating different things. It could be anything, as long as it was edible. Sometimes, even if he wasn’t hungry, he would look around for things to eat.

Aake was not vegetarian and he did have pets. Even though he thought about it from time to time, he never ate any of his pets. He did not do this mainly because of social convention and moral compass. For many people it would be hard to resist the temptation of having something so edible so close and so deliciously reminiscent of goat cheese quesadillas. Aake had one goat and two parrots.
