Bullets are ricocheting far below
Bombs nearly missing our ship
Adrenaline is pumping and this feeling can't be beat
Flying in hostile areas in the clouds
Wondering if they mind the fuss
War is a dirty bit of violence but I don't care
All of my friends here are young and able
We might not be fighting hand to hand,
and maybe only dropping off troops
But this close to danger
Our loved ones fear for our safety
And rightly so.
Here comes the enemies.
What are we to do?
They are shooting at us and we are only transport...
I spin and swerve but in the end...
We are tumbling out of control...
Streaks of blue seem to plummet with us...
This is the end...
I can feel the heat of the engine...
If it blows now we'll be but pretty fireworks of successful fire...
And even as there's no question now that I will perish...
Funny, there's a song stuck in my head...
"All the young dudes, carry the news...
All the young dudes, carry the news..."
