That love bug.

You’re hooked.

You’re hooked and you know it.

It’s got you firmly in its grasp and

God knows it won’t let go.

I don’t understand it.

After everything he’s done

And the pain he caused.

Can you really not remember?

The tears that fell down your face.

The sadness that he left.

The emptiness you felt.

Maybe you don’t.

Maybe you don’t want to.

But I remember.

God knows I remember.

How you told me to never let

Him catch your heart again.

And I tried.

God knows I tried.

But you’re a stubborn thing.

Stubborn and blind to truth.

What can I do?

What can I do but watch

Watch and wait

For when you cry again.

Know that I'll be there to wipe away

Those tears once again

The sadness once again

Fill the emptiness once again

And be there to pick up the shattered remains

Of your heart

When he breaks you once again.

That love bug.

Its bite stings and

Pierces hearts.
