The Leader of the Crack

Never a promise to keep

Never a word too small.

Always a bigger lie

For something always too tall.

With a snip and a smack

You crack and you cry.

You find shelter in bosoms

But in mine, you die.

In the wind you will always

Get snowed under in white.

In your deep cornered hole

I should be ready to fight.

In the sunshine you writhe

And I get some skin.

But the small peaks of diamonds

Are wearing too thin.

For your promise too rough

And your smile too cheap,

Your money irrelevant

When the rest bleed and weep.

Those words and their rounds

Notes as chunks of love

Crack open a bottle of wine,

This Deal Forever is not yours

But mine.
