The Reply
The sky is bluer,
The grass is more green.
I am healthy, alive and just as free.

She never understood,
She never knew,
The hardship I was going through.

No job, no home,
All day alone.
No money, no car – you couldn’t go far.

It wasn’t my fault,
Nature’s a game,
Only the certificate has my name.

Not the eyes or face
My ears or hair.
Probably wasn’t mine and that ain't fair.

You loved me, you fool,
That’s your blame.
The sex was fine, the talk insane.

Thanks for the while,
Time, food, bed rent free.
But the kiddie thing? Happy families
ain’t me.
