Thoughts after someone has had an abortion. This is in no way autobiographical, nor does it express my own personal views.

Uninformed Decision
Faced with the emptiness I wanted
Plucked life, like picking a grape.
The hopeful shape wound to a false promise
One I failed to keep with that first kiss.
Like a broken shoelace, snapped strap
Easily released was the coiled creature.
No body apology, the clock in the bin and
A space embracing my invisible feature.
The sick joyful relief.
The hard nails of murder.
The loneliness and my body and mind
Is so strong.
The smell of the tools that were used
Is so strong.
The breath of life, creation so close,
So strong.
I took it away, my grape.
I was wrong.
