A fire burns deep inside him
A red rose he gave me
A rose dipped in gold he gave her

Chrous: How could I compare
As my rose withers and dies,
Hers lives and thrives
Just like his fire that never dies

Oh, his fire's there
Just not meant for me to share
"I never loved you" he says "I was only looking for some way to make her jealous"
Well, guess what
It worked
He got together with her and dropped me like a stone into a lake

Chrous: Oh, how could I compare
As my rose withers and dies,
Hers lives and thrives
Just like his fire that never dies

So I send my best to her
He's the best I ever almost had
His fire never burnt for me
It was all for her

These calm waters still run deep
So sit at the edge of your seat
And look down
I hate myself for this
Oh, these waters still run deep
so sit at the edge of your seat
And look down
look down
look down
