Basically the challenge was to give a artist's name and you would recive a song by that artist to write a poem around. My song was Build God, Then We'll Talk by Panic! at the Disco. Enjoy :)

Wait, let me write this down
Where were we? Oh yes, Mister Big-Shot in town
He's got a big city check
And a whore holding his neck
He's humble, yes, as he avoids those respectable places, he prefers something a little more sour
He prefers the motel down the street that charges by the hour
You get the picture then
He's got nine lovely children
Two of which aren't his
He's got a wife to which he lovingly refers to as Liz
She enjoys throwing dishes when he returns home, is she mental?
He's caring and gentle
But rules her with an iron fist
A slap before they kissed
But then the cops are called
By a nosy neighbor who watches as he's hauled away
Handcuffed and jailed
That big check has sailed

She's the lowlife of the streets
Taking what she can get, even when it means a beating
Everyone has such a high opinion of her
'She was a real haggler.'
One man says darkly to his buddies in the corner of his motel room
Wouldn't you know in that room she looms
Her lifeless corpse taunted
Because that's what the client wanted
Her body now sits under an unattended gravestone, her memory worth not even a dime
Her 'client' still serving time
