A short synopsis of this poem...
Basically, the guy is the 'bird' and 'sun' in the poem. He has done something terribly wrong to the 'fish' or 'moon' and is feeling a lot of regret for it. He compares their relationship with that of a bird and fish because he did something that metaphorically killed the fish. When it says that the fish's body becomes trash, it's comparing it to the 'fish's' heart being broken. Hope it's not too comfuzzling for you! It was a weird title to work with! >.

I've been chasing after you for so long
But when I finally have you, I do something wrong
I'm in the stadge of night
Eagerly awaiting the moon to chase the sun back to light
Could you realize that my feelings are contrite?
I want to know how to make this right
Yes, you and I are so unalike, it's hard to miss
We are like the birds and fish
The bird catches the fish for that day's main dish
And the fish can only wish
As the water hits the river's rocks, SPLASH
The fish's body becomes trash
The sun frowns, but what for?
The remnants of his lover
Yes, you and I are so unalike, it's hard to miss
We are like the birds and fish
Could you realize that my feelings are contrite?
Don't look at me like that, I want to know how to make this right
You and I are like the sun and moon
Always running after each other a moment too soon
