I woke up and heard you singing last night
The music drifted through my senses
And touched just outside of my heart
I could swear that I felt my pulse change

I stood up and went to my window
And expected someone to be there
But the dew covered grass was untouched
I must’ve been going insane

You play this tune so long for me
And I can’t help but sway
How do you enchant with your voice
I could swear that I heard angels last night

I suppose it was only imagination
Can I be capable of what I think this is?
Can I say that I’m in love?
Or that I just love the idea of it

Am I just afraid to not have anyone in this world?
Do I fear being the only one here?
Or do I cringe at the thought
Of no ideas
And no music

You play this tune so long for me
And I can’t help but sway
How do you enchant with your voice
I could swear that I heard angels last night

Your music in my mind
Brings the night to life
Gives the crickets something to chirp about
Gives the moon a reason to be full tonight
As the light rolls off the tree tops

And the stars shine only to compete with each other
When will they ever learn?
It causes the dew to form as the day begins to come
The sun begins to rise as the moon leaves me
The orange glow of it just above the horizon
Chases away the beautiful music of the night
That you have created
Chases away the feeling of someone holding you
Yet solitude

Chases away the dreams that haunt you
Yet paradise
You were only a dream
That I wished to go on forever

That kept me alive on your music alone

But I awake

And life will end on the last strum of your guitar

It was music in my eyes
