Letter to Yesterday

Poem by: Lauren Sneath

Summary

Theme-wise, there isn't really one; I just wrote what came into my head.

Letter to Yesterday

My hands are shaking
Ink burning on the page
The words are blurring
Delicate with age
I cant catch it
The beauty of the pain
It eludes me  like
I cant see any further now its
gone

And the moment when I feel its coming together
is the moment when you should say you'll love me forever and
I know it in my bones but never say never
The paper crumbles and you'll say goodbye

It is colder now
I'm waiting by the door
Too frozen, too paralysed with
fear to open it
I was happier before
I can see that but
the scars are still branded onto my skin

You know i never got further
Than an envelope

The whole time
Standing
outside
Looking in to a life I never really
found.
