A regrettable past

A hazy present

A doubtful future

An uncertain and untimely death

All masked by a smile.

Thoughts locked in

Dark places to

Which depression

Holds the key.

But a smile masks everything.

It picks at the lock,

Prolonging the

Agony, dragging your

Defences down into

A vast space of

Nothingness.

But its masked by a smile.

The mass of salty

Water slowly

Corrodes the bars

That entrap this

Beast of darkness in

The untamed

Recesses of your mind.

But a smile masks everything.

The wrath of the

Beast Is felt, yet you

Have no feeling to

Defeat it.

Its masked by a smile.

Once unleashed

The war is already

Lost. It consumes

The remains of your

Sadness, leaving a

Maze of ruins on its

Path of destruction.

Your working hands

Have one last duty,

STOP IT!

The beast has

Departed revelling

In all its glory and with

It your beat and your

Mask… A Smile.
