This steady flow of
energy
is constantly surrounding
me.
Everywhere I go,
it seems,
I’m wandering in
the world’s extremes.
(With either end ripping at the
seams)
From wars which never
abate,
To the metallic sounds of greed
and hate,
And laughing babies
and the lovers’ bliss
(The world is damaged
but not all is
amiss).
I’m looking through
the looking glass
and watching all these people
pass
feeling excluded—
ostracized—
from the world’s joys
and it’s lies.
(but by looking, I do not
become wise)
So I’ll step into the current
and
I’ll click my heals beneath the
water and sand
and learn to be grateful for this
chance
to participate in life’s peculiar
dance.
