If only the future were now.
Then this agonizing confusion would fail to exist.
Where I am now is not where I wish to be.
I have my own ideas and clear visions of where I want to be.
But getting there seems nearly impossible.

Huge decisions are on my horizon.
Freedom awaits as my sunset quickly approaches.
Right or wrong I must now live with the results of my decisions.
The doorway I will soon pass through leads to manhood.
And this portal is one that is lined with pressure and filled with mystery.

I am not like them and I must carve my own path.
My life is unique and definitely not the norm.
A diamond in the rough I am.
The polishing from now on will be controlled by me.
I must learn how to shine on my own while out shining the competition.

I do not know exactly when it will happen.
And I must never force the issue.
It will come to me naturally and I must look for the signs.
This road will be a rough one, this is guaranteed.
This is why I continue to prepare.

Armed with a strong mind and flanked by faith I will succeed.
I accept that I will fail and I will emerge a stronger person.
I must be patient and I must be realistic in my pursuits.
Today is the beginning of the rest of my life.
And I accept and understand the challenges that lay ahead.

Trust in yourself, believe in your abilities, and have faith.
Good luck and enjoy the journey no matter where it may lead you.
In the end you will be 'right where you belong.'
