Faith-based beliefs and legacies are major influences around the world at large, and the presence of mosques, churches and other related institutions of worship, especially in Nigeria, have verified that man indeed has a religious need. But over time the involvement of faith in the amelioration of humanity has pejoratively gone unnoticed. The study of the role of faith in human development no doubt erases the prejudicial boundaries between faith and science or humanity as a whole. This study apparently is reflective, and addresses and examines the impacts faith on the advancement of humanity. Thus, in the preparation of this paper, I have used a qualitative analytical method, relying mainly on the content analysis of the works consulted to show how faith has contributed both destructively and constructively to humanity. From this viewpoint, the subject is considerably treated as emerging and circumstantial.
