Lonely child

The others play outside,

Excited cries, boisterous games

Water guns, sunny days

Skipping ropes, bicycles

Cricket bats and tennis balls.

I close the window,

Don't taunt me with your laughter

Go play somewhere else

Leave me here in my room

Leave me by myself.

I take my crayons,

A magical castle, a unicorn,

Pure white with twisted horn,

Tiny fairies, a pirate ship,

Ferocious dragon, fiery lips.

This is my world, here I am brave

A princess to rescue, a dragon to slay

Escape with treasure,

Adventure at sea

There are no kids here

To bully me.

The others play outside.

But this is my kingdom.
