Within my skin I hold a forest,
forever white, though stained by black.
Among it's trees you will find no life,
though here your fathers tell stories.

I know it makes NO SENSE!
But the only thing that I can think of is roots!!
Is it roots?
I doubt it!
Hehe, you're right, that made no sense! No, it's not roots, try again! :)
Okay, I know this isn't right, but all I can think of is America. Within boundaries there are people--mostly good, some corrupt--and those people are just floating along, not necessarily standing for something, yet stories and lies are passed down by the government. Wow, okay, as I typed that I realized how off I was...but oh, well. Hmm...the description of this riddle is definitely spot-on.
I liked it. Is it your soul?
Nope! Something a bit simpler. :)
Okay, just tell! Lol, no one's gonna figure it out.
Nah! That takes all the fun out of it. I'll might eventually tell if it takes too long, though.
For now, the mystery goes on!
I'd say roots if Cherub hadn't already...~.~
I want to say a book......? =/
Within the covers of a book are pages, which made of trees. The pages are white, but when you write on them they're "stained" with black ink. And it's inanimate but can tell the stories of authors from ages ago.
...Well that's my guess...
We have a winner! Technically it's a leather bound book, but that is close enough. The pages are made of paper, white but stained by black. It isn't alive, yet it can still tell the stories of those who have come before you.
If your looking for another good riddle, look up "Road Riddle". Its quite a stumper :)
