Hard Luck

What do you do when someone you love,

Tells you that they have been told they have something wrong inside?

Do you try to comfort them or do you just sit and listen?

This is a quandary don't you think?

What if this person is no longer a part of you?

What do you tell them?

If you really care for this person you give them your support,

You give them and ear to spill their their problem into,

But most of all you give them a shoulder to lean on, one to cry on.

You support them no matter what,

You give up your time for them,

And ask for nothing in return.

And when it's all over and the smoke clears,

When the worst is past,

You comfort them, you tell them that your'e sorry.

Sorry that they had to go through the pain,

The pain that wracked their body and spent their energy,

Then you hold them and tell them that you love them.

Love them for all their worth,

Love them till the end of time,

Love them with all of your energy.

Because one day you might need this person to love you back,

And if God is willing, willing to answer your prayer,

All of this will come back to you.
