Traveling to lands that exist in the mind,

Visiting the dreams of the authors that I come to find.

Meeting the villains and heros, foes and lovers,
Riveting in their realities safe under my covers.

Lives that experience such heart ache and pain,
While their celebrations erupt, I could only wish to explain.

Facing problems so ludicrously over the top,
Yet reading unquestioningly, unable to stop.

Characters oblivious to the obvious sign,
Leading them down the paths of the dangerous kind.

Yelling at them, while their blind to their devoted love,
Looking insane, talking to my book from above.

While traveling through time that seems to be stilled,
Realizing I've lost hours that the pages have filled.

Men who glisten with sweat that wafts of sweet honey,
On bodies rock hard, skin perfectly sunny.

Women who will remain ever perky and smooth,
Always ready to be swept off their feet with kisses to sooth.

Making friends with this imaginary kind of a person,
Creating relationship that I never have to be worried will worsen.

Escaping the hum drum of life day to day,
With words that sprout images that take me away.
