This is actually a poem to my mom. But I'm sure that she'll never understand.

Something disgusting,
Something vile,
Living, breathing,
Deep inside.
No way to kill,
No way to hide,
The monster;
The reason for hollow eyes.

Every time you turn away,
The beast just grows,
And laughs at the pain.

Please just believe,
Believe what you are told,
Try to conceive,
The pain that makes one so cold.

Maybe you're right,
Maybe it's true,
That this beast inside,
Is just a tool;
An excuse to use,
A reason to run.

But this is getting old;
The beast finds it no longer fun.

So just turn away,
Like all the other times,
Leave the beast to chew on the sanity,
Devour the lines,
That were carefully constructed,
To hide the torment inside.
