Existential peom about individuation.

Mirrors
I observed and painted you sadly,
I noted the reflections.
In you I saw me, in seeing you
I saw myself.
not as others see me,
But as I see myself.
We act as mirrors do,
Canvassing the surface of our emotions,
Sometimes dulled.
For thought of a happy memory
Gives way to the realization of it
Never to occur.
And an unhappy memory is just that
