Originally this was a piece written for my brothers but it had a different meaning for each person I showed it to. Therefore, the significance of the poem depends on the person reading it.

I cannot promise a life without grief;

I cannot promise eternity, our existence is brief.

I cannot promise things will get better soon,

but even the night sky is accompanied by the moon.

I cannot promise those who love us is something we are in control of.

Until oxygen ceases to enter and exit my lungs,

I can promise my unconditional love.
