Through all the turmoil in the world, it all disappears when one’s eyes are shut. We close our eyes to escape it all. When they’re closed we see the light of the eyelid.
She is a wife, whose husband could be more caring. Her questions are answered with indifference. Her thought put away to the side. But when she closes her eyes she sees. The light of from her eyelid shines. The bubbly looking figures appear. In her mind, manifests the beautiful past. One where she was free as a bird. She sets out to claim this freedom again.
He is a father whose children want to love him more. Although, he could make it easier for them. His drinking habit, the arguments with their mother, all add to the problem. They think he chooses not to stop. In reality he realizes the problem. He cannot stop. His shame causes him to close his eyes and witness the light of the eyelid. To escape his wrongdoings in life and see what he can do to better them.
They are the children whose parent’s relationship could be brighter. They believe it is their fault. They shut their eyes and weep. Then see the light of the eyelid and know it is not their fault. The parents see the children crying. They close their eyes and begin to sob, although separate, know they must do it for the kids.
Eyes are closed and minds are opened allowing the heart to see. The light of the eyelid is not of the eyelid, but of the heart don’t you see?
