I peer through
The corridors of time
Saw flashes of scenes
I recall my life

Regrets upon my brow
I rekindle some light
Reach higher as I am allowed
To the old me I find

Cover me like a blanket of security
Cloaked in disguise
From the filth that has become me
I can repent, if you can chastise

For the fire grows, and
Those around me are repelled
Somehow the tragedy is shown
Compassion nears them, but none are compelled

If only I was taught
To bring back the flicker
Of hope to change which I've sought
Lay down my atrocities and be the bigger.
