coming to realize what a person is really made of can take so long that oftentimes it is too late.

I am drowning

In the blueness of the sky

Falling, Falling

Higher and higher --

I cannot see the edge.

The green earth beckons to me

But I am already lost

And breathing my last breath.

I close my eyes

And see things no one should see.

I sleep and dream

But you are never there anymore.

I touch my face and feel

Someone I don't want to be.

You broke the fragile glass

And no one can unshatter the pieces

You crumpled up the white paper

And now it can never be perfect again.

I hate you now

And no one can alter me.
