Demons in the Night

Are there demons in the night?
A time when the innocent sleep,
When there’s no light
And while creatures creep?

A time when the innocent sleep,
So content and unaware
And while creatures creep,
A nightmare, gruesome, and unfair

So content and unaware,
Very much asleep and oh so sweet,
A nightmare, gruesome, and unfair
Waiting beneath their sheet

Very much asleep and oh so sweet,
So quiet and unafraid,
Waiting beneath their sheet
Where they are laid

So quiet and unafraid,
Where there’s no light
Where they are laid;
Are there demons in the night?
