Status: Finished  |  Genre: Poetry  |  House: Booksie Classic

Poems based off the a tragical real disaster, that claimed the lives of a few loved citizens, from a lovely innocent family.

The Guilt Scenario

Their lives are dead and buried,

The house on it's knees of embers,

The neighbours and their kindled spark,

The cigarette that started it all,

The regret, the guilt and pain

When the smoker is the only one left.

The Cure To His Mistake

He knows he is to blame,

And alcohol comforts the pain,

He knows it's all his fault.

And alcohol will numb his brain,

He knows he killed his wife,

And cigarettes will fog her memory,

He knows he killed his daughter,

And cigarettes claimed her life.

Her New Home

She rests in Paulerspury church,

Next to her great-aunt Madge,

and poor old Susie May,

She rests in Paulerspury church,

memorised by a dull grey stone,

beside her poor young Susie

The Method Of Death

The cigarette went forgotten,

Left alight in the dirty ash tray,

They went to bed giggly and drunk,

They didn't he didn't check,

So they messily stumbled to bed,

The next day, he remembered the dead.

Susie May

She once believed, that mermaids were cradled by the sea,

She used to wish, that one day she may be one,

She once believed, that unicorns were hiding in the sky,

She used to wish that she could have one,

She once believed, that her Daddy wasn't all that bad,

She know's forced to wish, she had a better one.

Moving On

We have no time to mourn,

For the cat, the mum or the youth

No time to sympathsize,

For the man that lost his life,

We have no time to pray,

No time to wish them luck,

So we'll close our eyes and dream,

Dream of their lives in heaven,

Young, never ending and free.

In The End.

In the end, he's behind bars,

In the end, she's six foot down.

In the end, their daughter is gone,

In the end, the stress relief- there was none,

In the end, they killed the sun

In the end, we'll love them on,

And in the end, they are all gone.

ho! what a painful piece to write, I would hate to be like that, I gave up smoking 15 years ago, and if that ever happened to me I would kill myself I could not live with it. but a good piece, to point out to smokers that wont give up.

Yeah it was pretty hard to write but it kind of felt something that had to be done, to point out that smoking can be more then a bad habit.
