I Run and run,
until my lungs feel like they're gonna burst.
I stagger behind an old oak tree,
clutching my chest,
gasping mouthful of polluted air.
I feel so light-headed,
I almost forgot what I was running for;
I can barely make out his faint steps,
just inching closer and closer by the step.
My stomach lurches with the thought of being murdered.
As sly as I can possibly manage,
I take a little sneak peek around the right of the tree.
He spots me,
and with grimy teeth,
plants a murderous grin across his face.
With my breath caught,
I start out to run again remembering that he is still after me.
He keeps his slow pace,
almost like he's playing a game with me.
I take another look around,
and I lost my balance.
I feel pain seeping all through my arm where I fell on it,
and a liquid tickle my wrist.
Can this day get any worse!
Just like that,
solid hand grabbed both my shoulders,
and hulled me to my feet.
He breaths hard as if he's been running for his life.
"Do you know how long I dreaded this moment!?",
the killer said in a deep,
making waves of old sardines linger around my nose.
He squeezes my shoulders,
making it feel like I'm being crushed.
Reaching for something in his back pocket,
reveals that he has a knife.
He rasies the sharp object,
making the tip glimmer in the moonlight.
A sharp pain enters my throat,
making it hard to scream.
Even for my life.
Just as the blade touches my skin,
I wake in my bed,
reliving what just happened.
I go crazy.
After I settle myself down,
saying it was just a dream,
I feel that familiar pain in my wrist.
The wound from "the dream",
was still there.
