Movie review: The Corpse Bride
The Corpse Bride was made in 2005 and directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson. Some of the characters and voices in the movie include; Johnny Depp, Paul W
Whitehouse, Albert Finney, and Joanna Lumley. I think the Corpse Bride is a really good movie because it would be extremely hard to make them look real.
The Corpse Bride is about Victor, a quiet type of person and Victoria, also a quiet type of person who believes in marring her one true
The storyline is set in a dark and gloomy atmosphere, when everyone seems to hating the way they live.
Mr and Mrs Everglot, Victors parents, and Mr and Mrs Van Dort, Victorias parents organise an arranged marriage for Victor and Victoria.
The music in the movie is soft and sad in the land of the living and happy, cheerful music in the land of the dead. The music doesn’t really appeal to me
because I find it boring.
Victor and Victoria first meet at Victoria’s house. Victor and Victoria both share a passion for playing the piano
and therefore that seems to bring them closer.
The way they use stop motion in the movie makes it look way more effective then other techniques you could use. Also I think the animation is also quite good
and without these accepts it wouldn’t be also affective then other animations.
On the day of the wedding Victor completely messes up his vows, and is told that he cannot marry Victoria until he
gets them right.
Victor goes into the forest, he practises his vows over and over until finally he gets them right. He puts the ring on a crooked tree branch feeling quite
pleased with himself. Suddenly a ghastly Corpse Bride rises from the ground, and says “I do”.
The Corpse Bride follows Victor as he runs fast trying to get away from her. When Victor finally thinks she’s gone, he turns around and is face to face with
her. Victor faints from shock and when he wakes he’s in the land of the dead.
In conduction I think the Corpse Bride was good, because it would be hard to make the puppets look so real and move them so quickly. I think the scenes were
quite good, but it would have been better if they didn’t sing as much because it’s a bit hard to understand what there saying.
I would recommend this movie to people from the age of 10-14; it’s more of a kid’s movie, so they would enjoy it more.
