Breathe! When you walk down a tunnel, would you look, what’s behind you? There’s a boy is in denial with what’s happening behind him. He stand there. He feels like something different and he feels different. What is different About where he is standing?

I remember to never look behind me. I have always been told to look forward. As if I do look behind me I will be stuck in the mud. My mind would be going round in circles. My feelings will be going round in circles. I’m standing there. Alone. Noticeable. Small. At the end of this long trail, there was darkness that never disappeared but only hides behind a cloak. The darkness can grow tall and big and swallow me whole. Yet it can’t and I won’t let it. I won’t let my feet make steps as it’s the fear of the unknown that holds me back. Where would I go? My chest is pulling in, twisting, tightening and knotting. I feel like the sword of fear has gone through my chest. Yet this type of fear felt different. It felt cold but it wasn’t just that though it was something else… like I wasn’t there. I felt it though, I felt the feelings in my finger tips.

I’m human. I’m alive. I can see everything around me. Look ahead somebody is getting spit out of the darkness. Can this person see? I can hear my own breathing repeating itself and it sounds like it’s echoing down the empty tunnel. Can you see me? This middle height person who look scared ran through me. It was like I wasn’t there, like I was a ghost. But it was like cold wind going through me. Knocking me sideways like a door opening. But my eyes followed the person like a hawk. My eyes stopped looking and found something else. Wasn’t totally sure but it seemed like somebody on the floor. The person had ruby red blood running down his chest leaving a puddle of blood by his side getting bigger and bigger.

However, his mouth started to move, but it opened up another window for the blood to be released. The blood started to leak down his cheek and joined up to the puddle of blood like rain on a window combining to other droplets. I walked closer, closer and closer. The person had something about him that looked similar. Maybe the the body looked like one of my family members or maybe it was a neighbour. Which made every inch of my body to freeze and stand stiff like wood. Just a snap of the fingers, it hit me, it all fits together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Blood. That was the last puzzle piece. As something felt uncomfortable on my face and felt like it was sliding down my face like a snake. Maybe it was a tear on my face that needs to be wiped off. But it wasn’t a tear though was it? It was something more. I saw my fingers and they were in red paint. That boy on the floor I can see… it’s me. Just in the flash, everything was hidden behind the cloak and I was gone. Was it the darkness hiding behind the cloak of was it me hiding behind the cloak?

The tunnel I was standing in. It wasn’t a normal tunnel it was something different. It decided my fate for me to leave or stay. I was too late to decide. The darkness chose for me. I remember to never look behind me. I have always been told to look forward. But I did look back and I saw my past and now I’m stuck. Now there’s nothing.
