In my bed

Darkness consumes the room

The power went out

Thunder roars

My mind soars

A sudden light flashes

My phone

A text

I read it

Barely able to move my hands

A sort of paralysis comes over me

What's wrong?

I don't know

Ask the rabbit at my window

I hate that rabbit

I hate its friend the shoe

Too

Tapping its toe like an impatient teacher

Staring over your shoulder reading your work

Reading your mind

Washing your mind

Replacing your mind

Shiny new

You forget all that has happened

All your aspirations

Erased

Replaced

A mindless drone you are now

In your bed

Darnknss consumes the room

The room

Your mind

Both
