Questions i asked myself in order to find myself

Who am I?

A single drop in the rain.

A single grain of sand on a beach.

Insignificant. Minute. Invaluable.

I search the sands and watch the rain,

But cannot find myself.

I try harder and harder, but

The rain irritates my eyes;

The sand enveloping, reappearing once again;

An illusion.

My hand reaches out, in hope

But the rain washes the sand away

Where am i?

I dig deeper and reach higher,

Then with the break of clouds, the

Entering rays of light, I understand;

I am not a grain of sand, or a drop of rain,

Nor am I a ray of light; I am unique,

I am myself, an individual.

I do not follow the rest; be who they want me to be.

I am different because I am free, free to be me.

I am who I am!
