Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones is an American poet and mc. He is one of the most prolific writers that I have had the pleasure of studying. He paints some of the most vivid masterpieces of struggle and triumph. This poem is to honor him and his lyrical prowess. His writing challenges me to push myself creatively and imaginatively. For Mr. Jones.

Don't write lines to deface me/Words that strip me naked and disgrace me/Classics so hard they crush and break me/Climb the charts so high the critics lowly rate me/Don't reveal my shallow heart/Limited intelligence/Third grade vocabulary/Academic negligence/Don't step from the shadows to lessen my worth/Or liken me to Satan when hurled to the earth/Don't shatter my illusions/With lyrical contusions/Or compare my flow/To mental confusion/Holla Back (Jay Z) nah i wrote this lol.
