According to what I research some things that are in the forest are White-Tailed Deer, Racoons, Opossum, Porcupine, Red Fox, Tree Kangaroo, Panda, African Forest Elephant, spiders, slugs, frogs, turtles and salamanders, and lions. Most of the time they live in a very cold environment. According to what I researched it says that 1.6 billion animals live in the forest. Forests are divided into three different layers: the forest floor, the understory, and the canopy. The forest floor is made of soil, dead plants and animals and small plants such as grasses and wildflowers. The understory contains small trees or bushes. The Forest is important because trees absorb carbon dioxide and turn it into the wood, where the carbon stays bound up for hundreds or even thousands of years, living forests are an important part of the earth's climate system. Growing trees soak up a mess from the atmosphere and store it in their trunks, roots, leaves, and forest soils. The Forest helps us because it helps us breathe and it absorbs carbon dioxide. We should save forest because forests also support the life of some of the world's endangered species. Forests play an important role in the atmospheric air. During the day, trees and plants absorb carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. 3 types of forest are Tropical, Temperate, and Taiga.  Forests cover one-third of the world’s land area and host more than half of the world’s land-based plant and animal species. Every year on 21 March, the world celebrates the International Day of Forests. In 2017, the theme was ‘Forests and Energy’. In 2018, the focus will be on ‘Forests and Sustainable Cities’.
