this is a more personal poem I wrote. I was recently in an unhealthy situation that contained alcohol abuse. yes, this poem rhythms but that's how most of my writings (poems) flow.

First of all, welcome to my page! I have recently been in a situation that has contained alcohol abuse. If you have, I greatly apologize; along with anything else you have faced. Anyway, here is a poem I wrote a while ago based on someone that I knew as "dad." In the future, I will be publishing, on this site, a  short story giving my background. Here you go!

There was this man,

He said he loved me and my mom,

He took a vow; he would stand,

and catch us when we fall.

A year had passed,

Oh, how that year went so fast,

Then one night,

There was a fight,

And things changed and became disarray,

Then it came she and I couldn't stay.

How I remember the screams,

They would affect my dreams,

Feelings became uncomfortable,

This made me vulnerable.

The types of abuse I faced,

And the darkness of this place,

Where I called "home."

All because of one downfall;

This demon is Alcohol...

I hope that maybe this gives you a little perspective of someone who has been affected deeply by the misuse of alcohol.
