I lay on the concrete floor, the torn, red dress floated around me like blood from a scar. I was numb. I didn’t feel anything. I had to listen to my heartbeat to make sure I was still alive. I’ve known pain. I’ve experienced it before, but nothing came close to the pain I felt right now. I felt weak and drained, so I pressed my face against the floor and started sobbing. I gave up on everything at that point, nothing made sense to me anymore. I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder, but I didn’t care because it wasn’t his hand and he left me there, on my own. My sobbing turned into hysterics and I couldn’t breath. Suddenly I was in the air and everyone was moving around me.
