Lyrical and dark. Death's daughter is showing someone how to get into Hell

Black and white chequered tiles line the floor
A seemingly endless passage filled with the portraits of dead people
With eyes that follow you and whisper behind your back
Waltz down that passage! Dance! Perform for the spiders.
Make the ghosts believe that you are the ruler
And that they must bow to your will or suffer the unforseeable consequences
Lie if you have to- for the mice and rats cannot tell the difference between truth and lies if there is cheese involved

Leeches swim in the fountain of youth
And the soft bunnies are really just ferrets
That are teasing you
Nothing is real here
Not even me

Black tiles
White tiles
It's true
The passage is endless
Now all you need to do is esacpe this asylum for rats and leeches
Enjoy yourself
And take lots of photographs to show your friends when you return

This is the way between Hell and Earth
There is no return

You must press on
But keep dancing, of course
You're not allowed to show your weakness
Or the leeches will drain your blood and the rats will gnaw on your bones

Dance with Death, my father
And sing our praises
You wouldn't be here unless you chose to
So is taking your own life really worth it in the end???

Signed- Death's Daughter

Simply entrancing - dark and very emotional. I enjoyed it; i'd love to see more of your writing.

Very dark and sombre piece, a trip into the halls of hades. Well done!

Thanks. I felt that I was wandering a bit though it but it made sense in my mind, so I just went for it...

What struck me personally as the most vivid line of imagery contained within your piece was "Leeches swim in the fountain of youth". That has such a ring of truth to it. I can picture so many examples of the voracity of that statement.

Thank you for taking me on the tour of hell! Nothing like wandering about the old halls once again!

Thanks. Good to see that I'm not the only person who feels that they have been there before...
