Love's first euphoria.

Long ways and long times
Swing past the memories, swollen with regret
With pride I meet you standing here on the shores,
The strong tide is pulling things apart and sweeping them away
I'd try to catch them in my fingers, but don't know
If the risk is worth the pay I'd play you like a harp
Babe if you would only let my fingers in between your strings
Love, you'd love to hear our song and I'm already singing
To the melodies I know we'd make, the music our harmonies
Would create and despite my intense disdain for all forms of rhythmic physical refrain
I just might be tempted to take your hand and walk out on that glossy marble floor
Feet clicking, hold you tightly, and
Slowly sway.
Love, please stay.
