Twisting, churning, gurgling, the storm rages on. The waves had subsided for a while, and I thought I was in the clear.
But my victory dance was premature. The monster had only temporarily retreated, perhaps to lick its wounds and grow stronger or gather reinforcements for a more formidable fight. And it was now ready to wage gruesome war on my surprised and ill-equipped self.
But this monster is clever and difficult to fight. It makes itself invisible…too tiny to see. And it multiplies and multiplies, that ravenous evil thing. Is it a bacterium, a virus, a vicious little demon? Why won’t it just leave me alone? I’m battered and broken, lying crumpled and whimpering like a child. I summon my warrior troop, Pepto, and my league of magicians, Cipro, to help me fight this parasitic fiend. Oh, let this war be brief and merciful!
