Daniel Vodovnik

Led astray

For on this day,

Your impatience took hold of you.

They led you astray,

To be missed every day.

If I asked you to stay,

I know you would have.

But alas I held my tongue,

So you could go have fun.

Now I sit here,

Reminiscing on that day.

Wondering why it is I have to visit your grave,

Contemplating why I held my tongue that day.

You were a Father,

A Brother,

A Son,

And a Friend.

And still memories of you,

Are held in our heads.

Wondering why you let yourself be led astray,

On that sad, sad day.
