Lost and Found (ending #1)

Poem by: Lisa Marks

Summary

I am pulling myself out of the mess my life has become. Thinking positively, writing my heart out, and practicing less self-destructive behavior.

delusions of grandeur

swim through my brain

rescuing me from the depths where I've lain

the summit I climbed, a precarious place

the tide I did summon ripped me down on my face

like a toddler unbalanced

shaky and scared

determined to walk

hold my head in the air

I am cemented in place

I'm trapped and scared

the status quo is all I know

If I ever get out

I will stand on my own

solid frame

built from stone

for now I'll take baby steps, its all I can do

to escape from the blue

like serving a sentence

of life with parole

soon I'll be out

and I'll know where to go
